synopsis
Israel | 2013 | 54 min
In the 1960s and 70s, a thriving Israeli community existed within the opulent confines of Tehran. Under the Shah's authoritarian rule, they enjoyed a privileged lifestyle, their ties to the regime granting them special status. However, as the Shah's corrupt dictatorship began to crumble, their 'Iranian paradise' rapidly descended into chaos. Caught in the crossfire of the escalating Islamist revolution, they found themselves trapped in a nation spiraling towards turmoil.
Drawing from rare archival footage and interviews with former diplomats, businessmen, and Mossad agents, the director—whose family was part of this community—offers a fresh perspective on the revolution that reshaped the world. What begins as a nostalgic exploration of a bygone era evolves into a gripping tale of shattered dreams, greed, and the intoxicating allure of power.
